Explanation:

The Indian constitution makers adopted FPTP (First-Past-The-Post) system because of its simplicity. Furthermore , the FPTP system encourages people different communities to come together to win an election and in parliamentary form of govt. this system is capable of giving stable govt. But at the time of independence there were huge inequalities in our society. There were various kinds of social divisions based on caste, gender and religion. Our constitution makers were aware of it so they provided a mechanism of reserved constituencies to ensure that socially disadvantaged groups also get due representation.
