metacentric-middle centromere forming 2 equal arms of chromosome.
sub-metacentric-chromosome has centromere slightly away from middle of the chromosome resulting in one longer and one shorter arm
acrocentric-centromere is located close to the ends
telocentric-chromosome has terminal centromere.
