A computer is an information processing device. It takes raw data (called the 'Input') from us, the users, and processes it into meaningful information called the 'Output'.
----------------------------------------
HOW DOES IT PROCESS THE INPUT?
The computer is able to process the input by using a set of 'computer programs', which are instructions given to the machine to perform specific tasks; these instructions are written by a human operator.
A computer program is written in a language the computer understands (called the 'programming language') and the computer thus simply follows the instructions it has been given through the computer program to process the 'input' into 'output'.
Hope it helps :)
