Data mining has got it roots from three family lines:

  1. Classical statistics - The standard stats to analyse a situation or mathematical data for number predictions.
  2. Artificial intelligence - It has high-end queries to act more humanly.
  3. Machine learning - It is the combination of Classical and AI stats in order to build itself up.
  • Over the years this huge amount of data has been collected and stored, but it has increased the complexity to retrieve that data whenever needed.
  • Data retrieval has lead to the term of data mining.
  • The term was first coined in 1990s.
