a) There are many ways in separating mixtures of chlorides salts such as that of sodium chloride and ammonium chloride. It can be done by crystallization, filtration or sublimation. The easiest method among the three is separation by sublimation. Ammonium chloride sublimes upon heating

b) Put the mixture in water so the

sand you have will be denser than water, so it will sink, and the sawdust is going to be less dense than water, so it should float. mix it with a large amount of water, then scrape the sawdust off the top.

c) A mixture of chalk powder and water can be separated by this method. To separate the soluble solids form liquids we use evaporation and condensation methods. The process of conversion of water into vapour by heating it to its boiling point is called evaporation

Hope this helps :)

.(a)NH4 undergoes sublimation while NaCI does not.

(b)Here we will first do sedimentation process. Because of this, the sawdust being the heavier particle gets settled at the bottom of the container along with sand. The mixture is then separated from sawdust and sand by filtration.

After filtration, we will get the mixture of water and salt. This mixture is then separated by using evaporation. During evaporation, the water molecules get evaporated leaving behind only salt particles.

(c)A mixture of chalk and water can be separated by filtration.
