The sex of child determine by the father's sex chromosomes. child receive either X chromosome from mother or father when child receive X chromosome from father then the child will be a girl and when the child receive Y chromosome from father then the child will be a boy. mother's sex chromosomes does not decide the sex a of child. because mother has same allele of sex chromosome.
During sexual reproduction variation arises in the child this is because there are 50% share of chromosomes from the chromosomes of mother and father and which type of variation arise in the child. it depends on the dominant gene which is of either father's gene or mother's gene for a specific character.
