When a hot body mixed with a cold body heat energy passes from the hot body to the cold body till both the body attain same temperature if no hear is lost to the surrounding then this is known as PRINCIPAL OF METHOD OF MIXTURES it is based in the law of conservation of energy.
In which,
Heat energy lost by hot body=Heat energy gained by cold body
m1c1(t1-t)=m2c2(t-t2)
where m1 is mass of hot body
M2 is mass of cold body
C is specific heat capacity
And t1 and t2 are initial temperature of both bodies and t is final temperature.
