There are numerous almost uncountable dissimilarities between vertebrates and invertebrates . Let's have a look at those points of difference one by one.

Vertebrates

  • A backbone is present

  • Heamoglobin present in their blood cells. It is a part of red blood cell that basically works to carry oxygen from one part of body to another.

  • A ventral heart is present in their body.

  • presence of the external tail is the most defining and unique property of the vertebrates.

  • A hollow and dorsal nerve cord is present.

  • An external ear is present, Basically in mammals (exceptions are there ) .

Invertebrates

  • No backbone is present in them.

  • Post - anal tail is absent in their body.

  • Heart if present then it is found only on the dorsal side of their body.

  • Nerve what is solid not hollow like that of the vertebrates.

  • Heamoglobin if present then it will be seen in the dissolved state.
