(y-1/2)(y+3/8)=(2y-1)(8y+5)=16y^2-2y-3

Rithvika20: (y-1/2)(y+3/8)

8
(Y-1÷2) (Y+3÷8)
= (8Y-8) (2Y+6)
= 16Y2+48Y-16Y-48
=16Y2+32Y-48
It is your correct answer.

Rithvika20: y(y-1/2)+3/8(y-1/2)
y2-1/2y+3/8y-3/16
y2-7y/8-3/16=0
16y2-14y-3=16*0 [take lcm]
16y2-8y-6y-3=0
8y(2y-1)-3(2y-1)=0
(2y-1)(8y-3)=0
y=1/2 or y=3/8
i guess this is the correct answer
aymanismail786pdyva4: you have to do this by the identity
