We see objects which do not have their own light source because they reflect the light from a different source of light which falls on them. For example when we see a table kept in the room then we see it because either it is reflecting the light from the bulb/tube light kept inside the room or the light from the sun coming in through the window. But if we keepthe room dark then we are not ale to see it because then it does not have any light to reflect .
