objects are all matters.. so they have a fixed mass.. the molecules of the matter reflect light which then reaches to our eye...
note that .. when we see a thing we are seeing its past.. this is because the phenomenon of light reflecting and receiving by our eyes has a time gap... so in this time gap the particle changes its configuration... though this timegap is minute...

When any object is seen, an image is formed on retina of the eye. After that the electrical signals are generated and those signals were sent to the brain through the optical nerve and perceive that particular object.
