the mixture is kept in a beaker and placed on the Burner with the opening of beaker closed with a cork and a thermometer inserted in cork the water condenser should be connected to breaker and another beaker where u want to collect the solution heat it u will see that the thermometer is showing same temperature this is bcoz the mixture which has low boiling point is evaporating and thus it is separated
