It can be done by using aqueous ammonia, which is also called ammonium hydroxide.
When the mixture is treated with a fairly strong solution of ammonia, silver chloride goes into solution by forming the complex ion [Ag(NH3)2]+, but lead chloride remains unaffected.
AgCl (s) + 2NH3 (aq) = [Ag(NH3)2]+ (aq) + Cl- (aq)
The unaffected lead chloride can be separated by filtration.
