The NLX case design is based on mass-marketed, retail PCs, and is a replacement for the LPX form factor and case design. The NLX case is a slim-line, low-profile case, with a riser card arrangement for expansion cards. Since the NLX form factor is an actual standard, it should allow for greater interchangeability of components. Many of the changes made are based on improving case and motherboard design to allow for various PC options, and to allow easier assembly and reduced cost for mass production.
