After the ovum has been fertilized by the sperm in the Fallopian tube, it forms a fertilized egg. This eventually develops into a morula which further develops into a blastocyst. The blastocyst then implants on the wall of the uterus or endometrium by making a small pit inside the wall. This is called implantation.
