Punjab Plains - western part of Northern Plains. Formed by Indus River and it's tributaries. Large part lies in Pakistan.Ganga Plains - Formed by Ganga. Lies in Northern States of UP, Haryana, Delhi, Bihar, partly Jharkhand, West Bengal to its east.Brahmaputra Plains - Particularly in Assam. Formed by Brahmaputra.

the northern plains are important physical division of Indian they are situated of the south of the Himalayas these plains are also known as the Indo gangetic plains the northern plains are formed by silt deposited tributaries
