Answer:it was observed that in a place called dorset white coloured moths used to survive more as they can easily grow over lichens due to matching of colour just like a chameleon.but the orange ones are most often eaten by predators hence their population decreased.
After industrial revolution,it was observed that the orange moths number rapidly increased.it is because the pollution has increased and causing the death of lichens and soot is accumulated all over.that is now the orange coloured moth which is dark used the camouflage..
thus in both cases the one with finest characters that fits to that those environmental conditions are survived.
