The simplification of the theory of elasticity helps in mean calculation for load carrying characteristics for the cylindrical shell analysis. Also helps in calculating deflection characteristics of cylindrical shell. Thus Lundgren’s theory can said to be based on the thin wall theory of the beam but for cylindrical shells.
