Sonar, short for Sound Navigation and Ranging, is helpful for exploring and mapping the ocean because sound waves travel farther in the water than do radar and light waves. NOAA scientists primarily use sonar to develop nautical charts, locate underwater hazards to navigation, search for and map objects on the seafloor such as shipwrecks, and map the seafloor itself. There are two types of sonar—active and passive.
Radar : RADAR stands for Radio Detection and Ranging System. It is basically an electromagnetic system used to detect the location and distance of an object from the point where the RADAR is placed. It works by radiating energy into space and monitoring the echo or reflected signal from the objects. It operates in the UHF and microwave range.
X-ray :
X rays are electromagnetic radiation that differentially penetrates structures within the body and creates images of these structures on photographic film or a fluorescent screalled

hey mate
here is ur ans
a) SONAR: Sonar stands for SOUND NAVIGATING AND RANGING. It is a device which uses ultra sound waves for searching different things in the deep water or the place where humans can not go. In the device a number of ultra sound waves is produced. When the waves touches an object in the deep sea it bounces back and is received by the device. So its depth and distance can be calculated of the object.
b) RADAR: Radar is a machine or satellite type machine mechanics in which it can detect enemy with some distance far away . It is a mechanical engineering in which the day to day life.
c) x - rays: X -ray is a form of electromagnetic radiation. Most X- ray have a wavelength ranging from 0.01 to 10 nanometres, corresponding to frequencies in the range 30 Peta hertz to 30 exahertz (3x 1016Hz to 3x 1019 Hz) and energies in the range 100eV to 100keV. X - ray wavelengths are shorter than those of UV rays.
Hope it helps....
