I assume we have to expand and simplify.

Part (ii) :

(a^{2} + b^{2})(a + b)(a - b) = (a^{2} + b^{2})(a^{2} - b^{2}) = a^{4} - b^{4} .

Part (iii):

(a^{4} + b^{4})(a^{2} + b^{2})(a + b)(a - b) = (a^{4} + b^{4})(a^{4} - b^{4}) = \underline{\underline{a^{8} - b^{8}}} .

Note that the whole question is about differences between two squares.

manamperi344: I assume you know how to multiply out two brackets. For example (a+b)(a-b) = a^2 + ab - ab - b^2 = a^2 - b^2.
manamperi344: In part (iii) I directly substituted the answer from (ii) as the question asks.
