The term Communalism means :––

♦ Communalism :-

When one religious group is pitted against another by the political class , is known as Communalism .

By this practice , one religion says itself superior to other .

This also happens when demands of one religion is against the demand of another religions .

It has various forms :-

Like as –

• prejudice and stereotypes

• Leaders also uses this to win election

• When it takes the form of riot , then it causes disintegration . e.g india pak partition .

Communalism : It means attempts to promote religious ideas between groups of people which are identified as different communities.
Communalism can take various forms:
* The most common expression of communalism is in everyday beliefs.
These routinely involve religious prejudice stereotype of religious communities and believes in superiority of ones religion over the others.
* A communal mind often leads to a quest for political dominance of ones own religion.
* Political mobilisation on religious grounds is another frequent form of communalism.
* Sometimes communalism takes its most ugly form of communal violence and riots.
