to change a number written in scientific notation to standard notation, there are two ways:-

(i)if the exponent of  10 is positive

x * 10^y

y is a positive exponent, then the decimal point moves in right to x

eg:- 2 * 10^2 (10^2 = 100)

     200 (decimal point moves 2 times  right)

(ii) if the exponent of 10 is negetive

x * 10^(-y)

(-y) is a negative exponent, then the decimal point moves in left to x

eg:- 2 * 10^(-2)          (10^-2 = 1/100)

    2/100 = 0.02 (decimal point moves 2 times left)
