the judiciary is that organ of government which administers justice and law punish ments
functions:
1) it settles disputes and punishes the guilty through the application of relevant laws
2)it protects the rights of the citizens of india , including their fundemental rights.
3) it interprets the laws in conformity with the constitution.

Judiciary :- The judiciary is the system of the courts that interprets applies the law in the name of state . The judiciary also known as the mechanism for the resolution of disputes .

It's functions :- 1. The first and foremost function of judiciary is to give justice to the people , whenever they may approach it . It awards punishments to those who after trial are found guilty of violating the laws of the state or the rights of the people .
2. Interpretation and Application of laws .
3. Role in law - making .
4. Equity Legislation .
5. Protection of rights .
6. Guardian of constitution .
7. Power to get it's decisions and judgements .
