Answer:

Explanation:

Kinetic energy:-

  • Anything which is moving also has energy with it, and a capacity to do work.
  • The energy possessed by a body due to its state of motion is called its kinetic energy.

Types of kinetic energy:-

  • Translational kinetic energy: Energy possessed by a body in  motion in a straight line path. Eg: car moving in straight path.
  • Rotational kinetic energy: Energy possessed by a body in rotational  motion. Eg: spinning top.
  • Vibrational kinetic energy: Energy possessed by a body executing to and fro  motion about its mean position. Eg: the motion shown by the string of guitar  when plucked.

Kinetic energy formula:-

  • K = 1/2 mv², where m and v are mass and velocity.
  • Joules are its units.

Kinetic energy of an object is the measure of the work an object can do by the virtue of its motion.

Units of kinetic energy:
Kinetic energy equation is given as follows:
KE = 1/2 mv2 (mv square )
There are 5 types of kinetic energy : radiant, thermal, sound, electrical and mechanicals

Radiant Energy :
Radiant energy is a type of kinetic energy that is always in motion travelling through medium or space.
Examples of radiant energy:
1. Ultraviolet light
2. Gamma rays

Thermal energy :
Thermal energy is also known as heat energy and is generated due to the motion of atoms when they collide with each other.
Examples of Thermal Energy :
1. Hot Springs
2. Heated Swimming Pool

Sound Energy :
Sound energy is produced by the vibration of an object. Sound energy travels through the medium but cannot travel in the vacuum as there are no particles to act as a medium.
Examples of Sound Energy :
1. Tuning Fork
2. Beating drums

Electrical Energy :
Electrical energy is obtained from the free electrons that are of positive and negative charge.
Examples of Electrical Energy :
1. Lightning
2. Batteries when in use
Mechanical Energy :
The sum of kinetic energy and potential energy is known as Mechanical energy which can neither be created nor destroyed but can be converted from one form to other.
Examples of Mechanical Energy :
1. Orbiting of satellites around the earth
2. A moving car
