Lens formula
Lens formula goes like this :
1/f = 1/v - 1/u
where, f = focal length
u = position of object
v = position of image
Important things to remember
⇒ When the lens is convex ,
- f is always positive
- u is always negative
- v is positive for real image and negative for virtual
⇒ When the lens is concave,
- f is always negative
- u is negative
- v is negative
If you remember the signs you can easily do numericals
Best of luck :-)
