The period in which from birth to the natural death is known as its life span. Life span of an organism maybe few minutes to several thousand years.

• Life span of mayfly is one day, Rice plants 3-4 month, Banana 25 years, Banyan tree- 200 years, peepal 2000-3000 years and of Sequoia 3000-4000 years.

• Similarly, average life span of human beings is 70-80yrs.

Life span of organisms usually includes four stages:-

• Juvenility
• Maturity
• Ageing and senescence
