The poetess Sarojini Naidu has described the colour of bangles worn by a maiden. She has compared the freshness and purity of a young girl with that of newborn leaves. She remarks that they wear shining green bangles whose freshness is close to the vivid beauty of newborn tender leaves which look like a transparent green glass sheet.
