leaf is the site of photosynthesis in the plants. A leafe contains chlorophyll and stomatal pores which are necessary for photosynthesis. When photosynthesis takes place in a plant during the daylight, the leaf opens its stomatal pores where the exchange of gases takes place. further the xylem transports the water to the leaf, where the trapped sunlight, CO2, chlorophyll and water mix up and photosynthesis takes place. Hope it helps..
