What are meiosis and mitosis?

Answer:They both are types of cell division occuring in chromosomes.

Now:

Meiosis:It is cell division,used to produce the gametes, such as sperm or egg cells.

Two rounds of cell division takes place.

and 4 cells are formed.

Now:

Mitosis:It is a cell division,which results in daughter cells each having the same number and kind of chromosomes.

Here one cell is been divided to two genetically identical daughter cells.

so only 2 cells are formed.
