There are many uses and harmful effects of microorganisms.

Some of the uses of microorganisms are ,

• Lactobacillus bacterium helps in the formation of curd
• Yeast (fungi) helps in the formation of bakery products
• Microorganisms like fungi and bacteria helps in the decomposition
• They are also used in the preparation of antibiotics

Some of the harmful effects of microorganisms are ,

• Microorganisms like bacteria causes several diseases like typhoid , cholera.
• Bacteria also causes food poisoning
• Microorganisms like fungi mostly causes skin related infections (like athlete's foot)
