The modern methods of irrigation are:
SPRINKLER SYSTEM: In this system there are main pipe line which is fit with sprinklers on verticular pipes at regular distance from each other. The main pipe line laid on the ground. The sprinklers have root nozzles. The water is sprinkled on the fields. This system is good where the ground is uneven as other as other methods of irrigation weren't suitable.
DRIP SYSTEM: Pipes fit with small tubes emitters are used. Drop by drop water is released near the roots. A lot of water is saved as it is not lost through evaporation or percolation. This method is useful in dry regions where there is scarcity of water.
