The only difference between a molecule of a compound and a molecule of an element is that in a molecule of an element, all the atoms are the same. For example, in a molecule of water (a compound), there is one oxygen atom and two hydrogen atoms. But in a molecule of oxygen (an element), both of the atoms are oxygen.

a molecule is a 1st simplified version of an element . Everytime we combine 2 elements each element will have different molecular capasity, number and weight so when we combine the molecules will differ some will be taken out and some will be added and whereas a element will have a fixed molecular number and configuration and will never change until there ia chemical reaction taking place
