Consider two blocks of mass m and M attached with a string.
If pulling force (F) is acting on mass m
Then,
Acceleration of system = a = F/(m + M)
Block of mass M is moving with acceleration a only because of tension in the string. Therefore T = Ma = MF/(M + m)
If pulling force (F) is acting on mass m
Then,
Acceleration of system = a = F/(m + M)
Block of mass M is moving with acceleration a only because of tension in the string. Therefore T = Ma = MF/(M + m)
