The third law of motion states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. This can be observed both in objects at rest and those that are accelerating.

For example, a resting box pushes down on the ground due to a gravitational force

Third Law Of Motion

According to the third law of motion, whenever one body exerts force on another body, the second body exerts an equal and opposite force on the first body.

To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Examples

  • How do we walk

  • Recoil of gun

  • The flying of jet, aeroplane and rockets

  • The case of boat and ship.
