p block elements are the elements having their electronic configuration - ns² np(1-6) . while f block elements have electronic configuration nf(1-10) (n+2)s².
moreover, p block elements are the elements falling in groups 13-17 and f block elements are the inner transition elements or the lanthanide and actinide series

The elements of group IIIA and VIIIA belong to p-block
This differentiating electron enters into p-block

f-block elements:
The Lanthanides and actinides which are placed below the periodic table are known as f-block elements
Their differentiating electrons enters into the (n-2) f orbital
