- Parasites are the organisms having parasitic nutrition.
- The organisms live either on or inside the body of another organisms to gain their nutrition without killing them.
- lice, leech, tapeworm, flatworm, ticks are the examples of parasites.
- Plants like Cuscuta and yellow rattle are the examples parasites.

Heterotrophic nutrition -
- It occurs in fungi, animals, amoeba and plants such as Cuscuta (amarbel).
- Digestion occurs in heterotrophs.
- They are also known as consumers in the food chain.
- Chlorophyll is absent in heterotrophs.
