Explain Polymerization In simple words with an example please?

Polymer is made up of two parts :-

Poly means many and mer means parts.

When many simple molecules combine to form a big molecule then the big molecule is known ax polymer and the process is known as polymerisation.

Example:-

n molecules of ethene combine to form polythene in the presence of O2 catalyst at 100-300 degree Celcius temperature and 1000-3000 atm pressure.
