Hey there !
Postulate 1 of quantum mechanics states that the state of a quantum system is completely specified by the wavefunction, which is a function of both space and time. The complex conjugate of the wavefunction times itself and a small volume element is the probability of finding the particle within that volume element.
Hope it helps you !

The total wavefunction must be antisymmetric with respect to the interchange of all coordinates of one fermion with those of another. Electronic spin must be included in this set of coordinates. The Pauli exclusion principle is a direct result of this antisymmetry principle.
