explain properties of materials
Answers
so if it is glass it is transparent ,lustre
if it is wood it is opaque, hard
and if it is metal it is ductile, lustre, melliable, hard
so in the same way different materials have different properties
Properties of Material
we use a particular material for making a particular things for example we use steel and copper for making kitchen utensils can we use paper or clothes for the same? no. because paper or clothes will catch the fire when placed a burner mirror over these are not good enough to hold the flexibility are the two properties of paper and cloth that make us avoid using them for making cooking utensils .
so it is the property of a material that decides where and how to use in the appropriate manner .
Types of properties :-
property may be of two type -
1. Physical properties :-
Physical properties include appearance ,hardness, solubility, flotation hevyness, temp transparency etc.
2. chemical properties: -
chemical properties include the behaviour of material towards different chemical and chemical reaction for example reaction with oxygen ,water , combustion, and burning it .
