It refers to the method of collecting the primary information i.e. first hand information by using the research tool which consists of a given set of the questions. Merits:

2. It helps to collect the information from the large audience.
3. It offers an easy way to collect and analyze the gathered information to derive the best results.
Demerits:
1. The result provided by this method suffers from biasness of the audience.
2. Another problem is the difference in the perception of the audience towards the questions.
3. It is not always easy to analyze the results.
