Rancidity refers to the spoiling of food in such a way that it has bad odour or taste. The term is especially used for food containing fats or oil. It is the chemical decomposition of oil and fat making it unsuitable for consumption.
There are many ways to prevent food getting rancid like , storing of food at very low temperature, addition of antioxidant etc.

Corrosion is a phenomenon in which a metal converts into a more chemically stable metal oxide due to interaction with the environment. It leads to the destruction of the metal. Rusting is a common example of corrosion. It can lead to heavy damage if not taken care timely and properly. There are ways to avoid corrosion like alloying, painting, electroplating, greasing etc
