REIGN OF TERROR -
It was the period from 1793-1794 in France under the kingship of Maxmillian Robespierre.
All those whom he saw as being 'enemies' of Republic (Nobles & Clergy etc) were guillotined (executed) . It spread a atmosphere of fear all over France. Robespierre was considered 'cruel' . During his rule, many changes were made like change in wages & prices, staple food were rationed, use of white flour was banned. Churches were shut down and were converted into barracks or offices.
