Ganga plain extends from Ghaggar to Teesta river .it is a part of Northern plains.
it is spread over the states - Bihar , Delhi, UP , Haryana and partly Jharkhand and west Bengal .
role:
1. they are very fertile and agriculturally productive land covered with alluvial soils.
2.thick mangrove and evergreen forests grow in the deltas of Ganga.
3.It is also a very populated region.
4.major crops are grown in this area. - rice . Wheat, sugarcane, maize etc.
