Explain Saturated solution by giving examples.
Answers
Definitions ⇒ A solution in which no more solute can be dissolved at that temperature, is called a saturated solution.
There is not only one but many different factors that can affect whether the solution is a saturated solution or not.
For example, saturation of the solutions is affected by:
1. The solution's temperature
2. The solution's pressure
3. Chemical makeup of substances involved
Examples ⇒
1. Salt added to vinegar can create a saturated solution at the given temperature when the salt no longer dissolves.
2. Sugar dissolved into vinegar at the given temperature until it will no longer do so creates a saturate solution.
3. Water can be saturated with juice powder to create a beverage. at the given constant temperature.
4. Milk can be saturated with flour at which point no more flour can be added to the milk at the given temperature.
Hope it helps.
There are two types of solution
1) Saturated solution
2) Unsaturated solution
▶️Definition of saturated solution: The saturated solution is one in which no more solute can be dissolved at a specific temperature.
▶️Definition of Unsaturated solution: The solution in which more solute can be dissolved at a specific temperature.
➡️Activity:
1) take 100 ml of water at room temperature in a beaker.
2) Take sugar, mix a table spoon of sugar into beaker and stir, repeat the process.
3) what do you observed? After dissolving few table spoon of sugar, now no more sugar is dissolved into that water.
4) Because the solution of water and sugar becomes saturated solution.
5) Now pour the contents into a pan and put it on gas burner, lit the gas and try to dissolve more sugar into it,you will see that more sugar can dissolve after rising the temperature.
6) Now close the gas burner, sit aside the pan for cooling, after few hours when the solution cooled down you will observe that crystals
of sugar appears on the sides of the solution, those Crystal's are formed by the sugar which we get dissolve after rising the temperature,as soon as temperature down the sugar crystalline.
More examples of saturated solution:As per activity some more saturated solution can be formed:
1) water-salt solution
2) Water- Glucose solution
3) Milk- sugar solution
4) Curd-sugar solution
Hope this Information helps you.
