explain self incompatibility in plants

self incompatibility means that the pollen when released they do not fall form pollen tube on same stigma bcz pollen and stigma do not mature at same time bcz of which fertilisation doesn't take place within same plant ie self pollination is not possible in these plants

self in compatibility is a wide spread mechanism in flowering plants that prevents in breeding and promots out crossing. the self in compatibility response in genetically controlled by one or more multi-acellic loci and relies on a series of complex cellular interactions between the self incompatible pollen and pistil.....
