Slash and burn agriculture is known as jhoom cultivation or shifting cultivation. They are practised in areas with thick forest cover.
Crops ate grown by clearing a patch in the forest by cutting trees and burning the small grass.They are practised in the areas like Africa, Amazon basin, Northeast India etc....

Slash and burn is a way of cultivating land where farmers clear a piece of land by slashing or cutting down trees and bushes.These are then burnt,which realises the nutrients into soil.Now crops are grown in this cleared field for a few years.
