take a glass Bell jar. cover the mouth by a cork and connect it with a switch a vacuum pump is also attached to it
then the switch is on, we can listen the sound clearly them when the vaccum pump pumped out the air the the sound became fainter and a time will come when we can't able to hear the sound
this shows that sound needs a medium to travel
