Species concept referred as group of organisms which are interbreed to produc offsprings. This term species was given by John Ray.

There are two types of species concept:-

1. Biological concept of species.

=> Species is determined by interbreeding.

=>This was discovered by Ernst Mayor.

2. Taxonomical concept of species.

=>Species is determined by morphological characters.

=>In general found in lower plants as they are flowering plants for vegetative character.
