Answer: Hope this answer will be helpful

Explanation:

meiosis is a form of eukaryotic cell division. However, these two processes distribute genetic material among the resulting daughter cells in different ways. Mitosis creates two identical daughter cells that each contains the same number of chromosomes as their parent cells. In contrast meiosis give rise to four unique daughter cells, each of which have half number of chromosomes as the parent cell. Because meiosis creates cells that are destined to become gametes, this reduction in chromosomes is critical - without it, the union of two gametes during fertilization would result in offspring with twice the normal number of chromosomes.

Answer:

Since cell division occurs twice during meiosis, one starting cell can produce four gametes (eggs or sperm). In each round of division, cells go through four stages: prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase.
