Suspended solid: They are solid soil particle which will remain suspended in a solution. They can be separated by some filtration and other physical separation methods. Some common example of suspended solids are SAND and SILT.

Dissolved solids: they are the atoms and molecules present in the solution that are not separated by physical separation methods. common examples of dissolved solid are Nitrates, phosphates, Ammonia, Sodium, Calcium and other nutrients.
